Care in Korean and English

Dr. Jeannie Su is a board-certified urologist, a Los Angeles native and a fellowship-trained robotic surgeon who specializes in urologic cancer. She speaks conversational Korean.

Talking about urination, the prostate or sexual health is hard for many people in any language. Being able to explain a symptom or ask a question in Korean can make that conversation easier. For bigger decisions, many patients also find it helpful to bring a family member or friend to listen and take notes.

The office serves patients from Koreatown and nearby neighborhoods such as Mid-Wilshire, Pico-Union, Westlake and Hancock Park.

What Dr. Su treats

Dr. Su treats the full range of adult urology, from a first high PSA result to a kidney stone. Conditions she treats include:

Men’s health is routine medicine

Erectile dysfunction and low testosterone are common, and they often have medical causes such as diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease. For a urologist they are everyday questions, and most can be treated. There is no need to wait until a problem feels unbearable.

Seen blood in your urine, even once? Get it checked. It can look pink, red or dark brown, and it often comes and goes. Blood in the urine is the most common sign of bladder cancer, so it should never be waited out. What the work-up involves.

Where Dr. Su operates

When you need surgery or a hospital stay, Dr. Su has privileges at Good Samaritan and Hollywood Presbyterian. She also has privileges at Cedars-Sinai, Providence Saint John’s, Glendale Adventist, Glendale Memorial and Long Beach Memorial. Where your surgery takes place can depend on the procedure and your insurance plan. The list of surgeries explains what she performs.

Insurance at the Koreatown office

The Koreatown office is in network with PPO plans from Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna and UnitedHealthcare, with CENTER IPA, and with Medicare. If your coverage runs through an IPA (a medical group that contracts with your health plan), your plan may require a referral from your primary care doctor, so ask about that when you call.
